hippie | noun | hip.pie : a usually young person who rejects the mores of established society and advocates a nonviolent ethic

First known use: 1965

People, myself included, have been calling me a hippie lately, and at first I did not deny the term because I am trying to be all naturale and do love the concept of non-violence despite my two second road rage when motorcyclists here try to attempt suicide on my behalf. But after deep contemplation, I embraced and was even endeared by the term hippie. Although I am not going to join a community of long-haired, drape wearing, dope smoking (let me be honest here for a second — if I ever did FIND said community, I absolutely would join them) people, I am ridding my body and brain and environment of all things man-made and consumer driven toxins that harm the essence of such beautiful life. There is a reason that herbs, flowers, trees, salt rocks, rivers, even butterflies, exist. They are here not merely by coincidence or accident: I truly believe we can live a happy life by using only what the Universe has given us, and that is Mother Nature and her many wonders. I know that I am sitting here in an immaculate home, writing this blog on a luxurious laptop, but like I said earlier, I have not yet found my community of fellow hippies. Ha ha!
