I completely agree that not everyone exhibits traditional ways of happiness, but he now believes happiness cannot be obtained from Earth but from Heaven only. It just seems he is missing out on life because he thinks this whole world is corrupt. To each their own, but I often wonder if he is truly happy in seeking this new philosophy of his. Perhaps you are right though. Perhaps he does have inner peace, which is waiting to be in Heaven upon death.
