I Saw a UFO

It somehow gave me comfort, knowing we aren’t so alone

Who else was I to tell of the sight never to be unseen — now instilled within my mind’s eye permanently — other than my Dad, with whom I share a passionate longing to search through the depths of this vast world, uncovering the mysteries of the un-explainable happenings?

“They’re out there Vill — don’t let anyone tell you otherwise! Just one of the many, many things our government is lying to us about!” — My Dad

I was sitting on the balcony, as per usual once the sun makes its descent downward, to light up the other side of the world, when I saw a yellow plane flying high in the sky, as if floating. But no, not a plane. Where was its trail? And are planes even yellow? Must be a bird, I told myself. No, no. Not a bird, either. Birds aren’t that huge — this thing was miles away, and it was still huge! Oh, I know: it’s a satellite. But if so, why was it so dull in appearance? I was told they’re bright when seen to the unaided eye. And the color? The shape? Even if satellites don’t “shine,” so to speak, I thought they illuminated the sky at just the right glow in order to be seen?

Whatever the fuck it was, I felt that it was something unique, special, foreign. So I…
