Living in a Third World, World
Although the term Third World was invented to categorize the countries not involved or in agreeance with capitalism and communism, it now is loosely interpreted as countries that are underdeveloped. Perhaps a better way to phrase that would be: countries that are less developed than the Western world would like them to be. Countries such as this, however, (I am speaking from personal experience here, mind you) are usually much more welcoming. More adaptive. More appreciative for knowledge and help. They don’t live in a world full of poverty because they want to; no, they live in their world because it is all they are capable of… for now. They need help. They crave outside forces to lend a helping hand. They want the resources others have, but they need a shove in the right direction. A leader, even, to direct them to the proper way of enlightenment. Of development.
That being said, I question whether or not our planet — our world — is a third world, world. I’m not implying anything political about this: I merely ponder over the structures that are too aligned and precise with the world to not be made by humans alone. Do other planets out there host species and beings that look at us as underdeveloped, the way we first worlders look at people from India? Panama? Perhaps they (aliens) divulged knowledge to help us with the etched lines in the Peruvian desert. The Egyptian pyramids. The…
