Our Kiss Kindly

Legs trembling and unsteady.
Palms numbingly cold, notwithstanding my exuding perspiration.
Butterflies twittering about in my empty stomach.
Throat struggling to swallow.
Eyes dancing between your eyes and lips.
Thoughts running amuck — all of you.
Cheeks flushing with waves of amaranth pink.
Heart titillating as breaths proliferate.
Chest aching as you step closer, inch by inch.
Hairs standing tall on the nape of my neck.
Arms filling with lead, too heavy to move.
Lips quivering at the mere thought of your breath crawling on my neck.
Memories dissipating as your lips graze my skin.
Body falling into your benevolent arms.
Soul intermingling with yours as we share our kiss kindly.
