Seeing the Homeless
Amid the cities where it grows exponentially

Things shouted at me on my walk home from work in downtown Las Vegas, amid the growing homeless population:
“Hey girl, don’t walk away with that food.”
“How much money do you have in that purse of yours?”
“Can I have a cigg, girl?”
“Hey, what’s in that bottle…some alcohol?! Come drink with me.”
“Let me ride you, baby girl! Ahhh-oooh!”
“Ow ow! Lookin’ fine there, missy.”
I used to live downtown in a city that shut down, came back to life, and then shut back down, due to the pandemic that has seemingly disrupted the entire world! I say seemingly quite loosely, as a pandemic literally means: prevalent over a whole country or the world. Due to the growing stressors inflicted upon the area I once called home (downtown Las Vegas, that is), the homeless population also grew, almost nearly in reversed proportion to the…
