The Grand Re-Opening of “Normalcy”
“Life went back to normal, after that, as it will do if you’re not careful.”
I’m here now, awaiting the arrival of the grand opening of life as we know it. Or rather, the grand re-opening of life as we know it. Perhaps a better way to say this would be: life as we knew it, for life will never be the same again. Life is never even the same from one day to the next, so why should it be the same, after having gone through (and still going through) a world-wide massacre, initiated by a tiny little virus that isn’t even always alive when it attacks? Life will never be the same — not even close. But that doesn’t mean we can’t create a positive atmosphere in which to provide comfort and feelings of home and belonging, as if that feeling coincides with “normalcy.”
The negativity of some though, driving others toward the abysmal masses of hate and insufficiency, is astounding to me during this re-opening; it’s as if their projections of self-loathing have come out from the depths of their insecurities, dancing on display in front of them, for the whole world to see.
Why so negative of this re-opening?
Well, some are negative because it’s only phase one, and they’re wanting the whole fucking world to pick up from where it was left, as if that…
