The Sound of Happiness
And what it means to me
“The only thing that will make you happy is being happy with who you are, and not who people think you are.”
— Goldie Hawn
You don’t know how dissatisfied you were in life, until you stumble upon this feeling of happiness, that masks all woes and worries from the past into near oblivion — as if those feelings now vanquished never existed in the first place.
You see how quick and easy it is to allow an ounce of happiness to dominate your life, so you keep letting it in, until you’re nearly overflowing with the abundance of joy.
Happiness sounds like rain splattering itself against the concrete and then, softly against the stems of the flowers that look too beautiful to ignore.
Happiness looks like the field of sunflowers you find yourself dancing in, on your walk home from the coffee shop just two blocks away from your home.
Happiness tastes like the melting of chocolate upon your tongue, as you let it sit there, curling itself around your taste buds until you can’t help but to half smile and maybe even share with a lover.
Happiness feels like the gentle touch from a lover’s hand, as it sends shivers up and down your spine a million times.
