Words Can Break You, Too, But Don’t Let Them!
Everything You Say is True: Words DO Matter
Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never break me.
This cute little song is meant to be uplifting, implying that insults don’t hurt the way physically inflicted pain does. But it’s simply not true. Words, thoughts, insults, sweet nothings, praise, criticism, digs… they all are intertwined with intent and energy and truth. For, once an idea is thought, or a word spoken, they enter into this world with a specific wave of energy (that is determined greatly by its host) that inflicts pain — if negative, of course — to everyone it reaches. Thankfully, it can also instill greatness — if positive — to those who feel its powerful vibrations.
Words also have a way of entering into the world as truth, even if it was initially a lie. Have you ever told yourself you were bad at something, purely out of low self-esteem, despite the idea that you’re actually really, really good? And you said it one too many times, so then you did indeed become bad at said something? Or have you ever allowed the words, “You are beautiful,” to resonate in your heart, despite you initially thinking no, I’m not. And then slowly, over time, you let those words truly sink in, and you begin to believe that maybe you…
