Working on Purpose
The healing components of honest work
“Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it.” — Buddha
My purpose in life? Some days, I think it’s to be that healing source of light to those who are floundering in the dark, as I too have once been barely able to stay afloat in the tsunami of life’s chaos. Other days, I believe it’s to pour out my heart unto the empty pages before me, as I create make-believe stories that make me feel so damn good. Yet others, I feel inclined to perform yoga to unite my mind, body and soul with the minds, bodies and souls surrounding me, as we engage in this act of connection via life’s force (prana).
Maybe my purpose is less about myself and more about others, as if I’m doing my part in this world for the greater good. But what exactly is that part for me? What does it look like? What do I do to fully work on purpose? And thus, work on the world?
