You Take Me Higher

I’m swimming in the clouds

“Having your head in the clouds is not a bad thing… as long as you take advantage of the inspiration you find while you’re there.”
Misty Dawn Seidel

I’m on this trip of a life, wandering on the shallow shores that soothe my feet, but I don’t stay for long, for you come to lift me up high — higher than I’ve ever before been.

You carry my frail body lightly through the oceans, until my body is submerged fully, in the deepest and coolest of touches.

But my head is elsewhere: I’m swimming in the clouds.

I can hear your heart beating as I lie my ear ever so lightly against your chest, as you keep holding me tightly in this now storm of an ocean that washes our bodies clean, but not our spirits.

My thoughts are roaming toward the heavens, as I ponder what this silly entanglement is… I can’t help but to wonder how long we’ll stay beneath this water that is gently touching us from head to toe, and then from toe to head.

I gracefully open my eyes, but I see not darkness, as I’m holding my breath under water. Instead? I see the clouds that float themselves higher than I’ve ever been, as I dream my future away with eyes open wide.
